Privacy Policy
This page explains what information Unscramblr.app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. Unscramblr is operated by an independent developer; you can reach the operator at maland9903@outlook.com.
1. What we collect directly
Unscramblr does not require an account and does not ask you to submit personal information. We do not run our own analytics platform, and we do not record the letters you enter into the unscrambler. Word searches run entirely in your browser against word lists served as static files.
The site stores a single value in your browser's local storage — a flag indicating that you have dismissed the consent notice. This value never leaves your device. Clearing your browser data removes it.
2. Advertising and third-party cookies
Unscramblr is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense, which is a third-party advertising service operated by Google. Google and its partners may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to:
- serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites;
- measure ad performance, prevent fraud, and limit how often you see a given ad;
- generate aggregate, non-personally-identifying statistics about how ads are interacted with.
Google's use of advertising cookies, including the DoubleClick DART cookie, enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and other sites on the Internet. You can review Google's practices in the Google advertising technologies policy, and you can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
3. Server logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare records standard request information (IP address, user-agent string, request URL, timestamp) as part of normal web hosting and to mitigate abuse. We do not combine these logs with any other data and do not use them to identify individual visitors. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.
4. Your choices (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you visit Unscramblr from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of personal data we hold about you, and the right to object to processing. Because we do not collect personal information directly, most requests will relate to advertising cookies set by Google; those are controlled through Google's own tools linked above. You may also lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
The first time you visit the site, a banner asks you to acknowledge that ads are served. You can withdraw this acknowledgement at any time by clearing your browser's storage for this site.
5. Your choices (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know what personal information is collected about you, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the "sale" of personal information. Unscramblr does not sell personal information. To opt out of Google's use of advertising cookies, follow the Google Ads Settings link above.
6. Children
Unscramblr is a general-audience word game utility and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact maland9903@outlook.com and we will take appropriate steps.
7. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Because we do not store user submissions, there is no user database to compromise. Any cookies set by ad partners are governed by those partners' security practices.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced on the homepage.
9. Contact
Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to maland9903@outlook.com. We aim to respond within seven days.
