About Unscramblr
Unscramblr is a free word unscrambler for Wordfeud, Scrabble, and other tile-based word games. Enter up to 7 letters from your rack and instantly find every valid word you can play – sorted by score so the best moves come first.
Unlike many word finders, Unscramblr works in multiple languages with proper letter scores for each. Whether you're playing Wordfeud in English, Swedish, German, French, Spanish or Dutch, you'll get accurate scores based on the correct letter values for your game.
How it works
Type your letters into the box and press Find words (or hit Enter). Unscramblr searches a dictionary of hundreds of thousands of valid words and returns every combination that can be formed from your tiles. Use the length filters to narrow results – for example, filter to 7-letter words to find bingos (using all your tiles).
Word lists
Each language uses a curated word list appropriate for competitive play. English (US) uses the TWL06 tournament list. English (UK) uses SOWPODS (Collins Scrabble Words). Other languages use open Scrabble and Hunspell dictionaries.
Tips for winning at Wordfeud & Scrabble
Finding the right word is only part of the game. Here are some strategies that separate good players from great ones.
Best 2-letter words to memorize
Short words are the backbone of expert play. They let you squeeze into tight spots on the board and create parallel plays. Some of the most useful in English are: AA, AB, AD, AE, AH, AI, AL, AM, AN, AR, AT, AW, AX, AY, BA, BI, BO, BY, DA, DE, DO, ED, EF, EH, EL, EM, EN, ER, ES, ET, EX, FA, FE, GI, GO, HA, HE, HI, HM, HO, ID, IF, IN, IS, IT, JO, KA, KI, LA, LI, LO, MA, ME, MI, MM, MO, MU, MY, NA, NE, NO, NU, OD, OE, OF, OH, OI, OM, ON, OP, OR, OS, OW, OX, OY, PA, PE, PI, PO, QI, RE, SH, SI, SO, TA, TI, TO, UH, UM, UN, UP, UT, WE, WO, XI, XU, YA, YE, ZA.
Frequently asked questions
Is Unscramblr free?
Yes — Unscramblr is completely free to use, with no signup, no app to install, and no usage limits. You can search as many letter combinations as you like.
Is using a word finder allowed in Wordfeud or Scrabble?
It depends on the context. In casual play with friends, most people use word finders to learn new words and improve their game — both Wordfeud and Scrabble allow it. In sanctioned tournament play, however, using outside help is against the rules.
How does Unscramblr know which words are valid?
Each language uses a curated dictionary specific to its tile-game tradition. English (US) uses TWL06, English (UK) uses SOWPODS (Collins Scrabble Words), and other languages use established Scrabble lists or open Hunspell dictionaries. The same word may be valid in one language's dictionary but not another.
How do I find a 7-letter bingo word?
Enter all 7 of your letters, then click the 7 letters filter at the top of the results. If you have a valid 7-letter play, it will appear. Bingos earn a 35–50 point bonus depending on the game, so they're often the single most valuable move available.
Why isn't a word I think is valid showing up?
Two common reasons: (1) the word may not be in the official tournament list for that game, even if it's in a regular dictionary, and (2) Unscramblr does not currently support blank tiles or wildcards — every letter you enter must be in the final word. Try a different language tab if you think the word is valid in another variant.
Does Unscramblr work on my phone?
Yes. The whole site is built mobile-first and works on any modern phone or tablet browser. Just bookmark unscramblr.app or add it to your home screen for one-tap access.
